"Wait here," he had said. "Don't move," he had said, leaving her to stand alone near the head of the bed.
So much for wanting her in his bed. Right. Now.
She waited. Dressed and alone.
The breeze of his breath still blew across her body as she stood barefoot, knees wobbly, thighs and folds sticky from the assault on her lower extremities that had occurred only moments ago.
Cal exited the bathroom, pausing at the dresser a few feet from her. Annie observed him in the gray of the room, his head tilted, a few stray locks falling across his forehead. The hairs of his chest, dark and perfect, created a thick line toward his navel she wanted to lick. And then she glanced at his zipper.
The light from the bathroom hit him perfectly in the otherwise dark room, illuminating his erection.
He was in plain view.
Jesus Christ.
His cock looked painful against his jeans, suffocating and large. She couldn't tear her eyes away from it. Her neck flamed as she nibbled her lower lip. She knew he had self-control, but this...
How much longer was he willing to wait? God, how much longer could she wait? A year — over a year of being without a man down to this moment.
"What are you looking at, Annie?"
She looked up, found his eyes, and shivered. Now he would know the comment had rattled her.
"Don't," he commanded as Annie reached back and began to tug at her zipper. "I want you to leave it on."
She peered at him, put her arms down, and began to twirl the bracelet on her wrist. She started to quake as he approached, as he sauntered toward her, splitting open the fault line of her passion.
Did he know? Did he know her throat was closing up? Did he know she was quaking and her thighs were still shaking? Did he know the dull ache he’d caused on the table had not subsided? Could he see all of that through the confidence she desperately tried to keep on her face?
He took in a breath directly in front of her and began to smile — not a boy of a smile either, but a devil of a smile, watching her reaction to his presence and seeming to enjoy the slow suffocation he easily inflicted upon her. The effect didn't seem to taper off. Ever.
Leaning closer, he kissed her neck and pulled up the zipper, sure as fuck to breathe against her skin.
"Do you plan everything, Prescott?" Annie exhaled the busy beehive of nerves with her silly whisper of a question.
Of course he had a plan. This man always had a plan. He wanted to have her in her dress.
He wasn't speaking.
Fuck.
It was really starting now. The table had only been an appetizer.
Fuck…
It had started the day she’d lain eyes on him.
"Making you come is my plan,” he said as he slipped his hands under her dress, toward her hips.
"Are you sure I can come?" she asked, a smile curving up the sides of her lips, a shiver climbing her spine as the tips of every last one of his fingers caressed her thighs.
